MOSI Festival 2011 – Beer List

The following beers are expected to be available at opening on Saturday at Manchester Museum of Science & Industry Real Ale Festival 2011.

Allgates California G 3.8 A clean drinking, pale gold coloured ale with a strong flora aroma.  Full bodied despite its strength and dryness
Allgates Caskablanca G 4.1 A generously hopped, golden ale with strong citrus notes
Bank Top Barley To Beer G 3.6 A blend of English malt & Eastern European hops resulting in a pale bitter with a citrus lemon & herbal finish.
Bank Top Port O Call P 5.0 A dark and mysterious easy drinking ale with masses of character.  Vintage Ruby Port is added to the cask to provide an unusual depth of flavour.  One for the connoisseur.
Bank Top Sir Henry Morgan B 4.1 The use of the Palisade hops from the United States gives a sweet, fruity well balanced beer with a bitter sweet experience. 
Bootleg Contraband G 4.5 A crisp, dry pale ale, very hoppy with a hint of citrus.
Bootleg Lawless BB 4.7 A classic bitter. Malty with a delicate hop aroma.
Dunham Massey Big Tree B 3.9 A well balanced golden bitter which is easy drinking.
Dunham Massey Dunham Dark  M 3.8 A smooth, easy drinking, dark mild, based on the tradional North Western milds of old.
Dunham Massey Landlady  G 4.3 Light and refreshing hoppy bitter
Dunham Massey Little Bollington   B 3.7  Pale, light, easy drinking bitter
Dunham Massey Gold SB 7.2 Fruity and hoppy with a sweetness that is reigned in by finishing with Saaz hops.
Dunham Massey Milk Stout  S  4.0 A classic, full bodied, sweet stout with a creamy, roast malt character. 
Dunham Massey Porter P 5.2 Classic, old English style Porter.  Dark, creamy full bodied and packed with flavour.
Dunham Massey Cheshire IPA IPA 4.7 A strong, pale, hoppy, bitter beer, based on the IPA's of old.
Dunham Massey Stout S 4.2 This is an award winning  creamy, full bodied, all English dry stout, with a classic bitter, burnt, dark roast flavours.
Greenfield Dobcross Bitter B   A golden bitter, a strong pleasant aftertaste from the cascade hops used in the production of this beer.
Greenfield Black Five B 4 A dark brown beer in which malt, roast, fruit, toffee and choclate can all be found in aroma and taste.  Smooth, malty aftertaste.
Greenfield Icicle P 4.4 Light straw coloured bitter, with a slight sweet after taste.
Howard Town Monks Gold G 4 A refreshing golden ale, with a hint of orange. Made with Styrian Golding and Pioneer hops.
Howard Town Wrens Nest IPA 4.2 A citrus IPA with assertive bitterness. Made with Pioneer and Cascade hops.
Hornbeam Captain Reckless G 4.1 Made with Delta and Green Bullet hops, it is fermented out to a dry finish but retains the characteristic citrus from the green bullet and a lovely floral aroma from the delta.
Hornbeam Top Hop Best Bitter PA 4.3 Superb palatable ale, full bodied, with malt appeal and ample bitterness.
Hydes Amazing Grace B 4.1 An amber bitter with an elegant style and robust finish.
Hydes Manchester's Finest BB 4.5 The choicest English pale ale malt and English fuggle hops gives this traditionally fermented premium beer its distinctive and satisfying flavour
Hydes Jekyll's Gold G 4.3 An outstanding refreshing premium ale.Its pale blonde colour and citrus character being its hallmark. Brewed using lager malt & Styrian Golding hops.
Marble Pint G 3.9 A pale, dry and extremely hoppy beer.
Marble Manchester  B 4.2 Yellow beer with a fruity and hoopy aroma.  Hops, fruit anfd bitterness on the palate and in the finish.
Marble Accidental IPA IPA 5 Ginger IPA so lots of ginger with a hoopy background.
Marble Best B 4.3 Pale tawny in colour.  Hoppy with a good malt balance, assertively bitter.
Millstone Vale Mill G 3.9 A pale gold session bitter with a floral and spicy aroma building upon a crisp and refreshing taste.
Millstone True Grit G 5.0 A well hopped strong ale with a mellow bitterness and a citrus / grapefruit aroma.
Outstanding SOS B 4.5 A light brown bitter.  Dry and intensely bitter.
Outstanding Stout S 4.5 Thick, jet black and bitter with liquorice overtones.
Outstanding White Wh 5.0 A cloudy wheat beer with earthy, spicy, lemony flavours.
Outstanding Standing Out G 5.5 Pale complex golden ale with 4 different hops. Aged for 6 weeks to allow flavours to mellow and develop.
Phoenix Monkeytown Mild M 3.9 Traditonal creamy dark mild
Phoenix Arizona G 4.1 Dry as a desert.  Refreshing as an oasis
Phoenix Wobbly Bob SB 6 Malt and hop aroma. Bitter and hoppy finish
Phoenix March Hare G 4.4 Full bodies.  Soft on the palate with medium bitterness
Pictish Brewers Gold B 3.8 Yellow in colour with a hoopy, fruity nose.  Soft maltyness and a strong hop /citrus flavour lead to a dry bitter finish.
Pictish Alchemist B 4.1 Yellow beer with generous hop and fruit on the nose and palate.  Good bitter hop finish.
Prospect Nutty Slack M 3.9 A delicious dark mild with hints of liquorice and a smooth malty taste. Part of our core beer range.  SIBA National Silver Medal 2009, Mild Category.  
Prospect Big John S 4.8 A dark stout bursting with a smokey liquorice flavour  and a satisfying bitter aftertaste. Part of our occasional beer range.
Robinsons Dizzy Blond G 3.8 Straw coloured Summer Ale with distinctive herbal or perfume like hop aroma. This light refreshing beer has a clean zesty hop dominated palate complimented by a crisp dry finish.
Robinsons Hannibals Nectar B 3.9 Premium ruby red ale with distinctive spicy / floral American hop aroma. This rich, full bodied, bitter beer has a predominately strong hop palate but also exhibits an interesting balance of biscuit malt and burnt toffee flavours.
Shaw's Golden Globe B 4.1 Yellow beer with a modest hoppy / fruit aroma.  Biscuity malts and tart fruit on the palate and in the bitter aftertaste.
Shaw's Tame Valley Ale B 3.8 A moreish session bitter
Shaw's Head of Steam PA 4.3 An easy drinking Pale Ale especially made for the festival.
